Dr. Divya S. Iyer (IAS) –  Sub-collector of Thiruvananthapuram.

She studied at the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore from where she did her MBBS. She won many accolades while doing her MBBS.

Her encounter with poor patients is what led her to take to the decision to become an IAS officer. She cracked the UPSC Civil Services exam with an All India Rank of 48 and is presently  the Sub Collector of Trivandrum. Well known for her innovative skills in administration.

Dr. Divya is, indeed, a versatile young lady. She is a qualified doctor, an artist, a classical dancer and a successful author. She has a powerful persona and is a force to be reckoned with. A true women leader and an amazing example.

Laxmi is a Senior Technical Leader at Cisco with about 17 years of experience and a master’s degree in computer science and networking. She works on various routing and switching platforms in enterprise and data center, leading and developing features in the areas of core routing, netflow, LISP, VxLAN, network Intuitive and machine learning.

She has presented at various conferences and companies in different parts of the world on topics such as Containers for Fog computing, Transition to IPv6 and Software Defined Networking and also conducted workshops on Raspberry Pi.  Engaging with students of all ages is something she enjoys and she is very actively involved in mentoring them. Her interests include reading (especially science fiction), teaching and pencil sketching.

Sabriye Tenberken –  Social Worker

Sabriye Tenberken, hailing from Germany, is the co-founder of Braille Without Borders, an organisation that empowers the blind to take up the challenges in their own lives.

Ms. Tenberken too is visually impaired, having lost all her eyesight by the age of 12.

Graduating with a degree in Tibetology/Central Asian Sciences from Bonn University she travelled through the Himalayas and started a school for blind kids in Tibet, where social stigma against people with disabilities is apallingly strong.

In 2005, Ms. Tenberken along with partner Paul Kronenberg started kanthari, an accredited international institute at Thiruvananthapuram. kanthari has people from all over the world, people from the margins of society and have overcome adversities in their life, who undergo an intensive training course to transform themselves into leaders and change makers. These ‘kantharis’, as the alumni are aptly called, are now creators of sustainable social change in their own homeland.

Vasudha Varma – Anita B.Org

Vasudha has over twenty five years of experience in the technology industry. She has worked across multiple industry domains such as banking and finance, pharmaceutical, telecom, supply chain management, and information storage management. Her foray into coding, quality processes, customer relationship, consulting, and business operations has given her significant insights into the various functional aspects of the technology industry.

Her international experience includes living and working in Australia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, United States, and Canada.

Vasudha is a national level award winner for her original research in solar energy options, and peace time uses of nuclear energy. She has been an invited speaker at the Women Who Code conference, Ford Foundation symposium on international communication, and a co-speaker at the Stanford University on outsourcing businesses to India.

She has been a speaker, panelist, and a member of the Grace Hopper Celebration conference tracks over the past six years. Currently, she is the Account Manager at AnitaB.org.

Saraswathy Nagarajan – THE HINDU
Saraswathy is Deputy Editor in The Hindu, Thiruvananthapuram. She coordinates the pages of Friday Review, MetroPlus and Edge, covering culture, lifestyle, education and entertainment.
A post graduate in Economics from University of Kerala, she did her graduation in Journalism and communication from the University of Pune.
She has worked in television and anchored interviews and talk shows and also worked in radio. She was faculty member of the Institute of Journalism.
She was twice member of the general council of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy.
She has won awards for her features and her interests are gender, cinema, music, theatre and local history.
